Oh, those chocolate croissants at breakfast were divine! We also loved how spacious our suite was, and the central location made it so easy to explore Pienza-just a stone's throw from fantastic local eateries like La Mensa del Conte and Gelateria Pasticceria Dolce Sosta!
Now, about the rooms being a bit warm. We heard air conditioning was off after September.

The wonderful friendly family. Nothing was a problem for them. The air conditioning had a major problem and due to the August holiday period it was difficult to have it fixed. They did not hesitate and hired a great number of refrigerated portable units for each room, which worked very well The hotel is located about 100 meters from the gates of beautiful Pienza and about 30 KM from all the hill villages including Montepulciano. We learnt that the closing scene in the Gladatior with Russell Crowe riding his horse up the cypress lane to his Villa was filmed at Pienza.

The stay here was perfect 10/10 for the vacation to remember. I ate at a good restaurant with great food. I had a very comfy bed, an electric kettle and a fridge. The location was particularly good and amazing, within walking distance of Grancia di Castelluccio. A small supermarket and supermarkets were right next door.

Had a good stay! The breakfast offered a great variety, including local pastries. Convenient for exploring Pienza with its comfy rooms and lovely atmosphere, although the bathroom could use an upgrade.

Spending the night in a 600-year-old castle is something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. The hotel is close the airport and gave me and my travel companions a truely wonderful Italian experiance for our last night in Italy.
Not an easy place to find... but what is in Rome?

friendly, helpful staff and very close to centre. the restaurant was excellent and good value for money. however the hotel was too expensive for the standard offered as the breakfast was of a low standard with little variety. only one cup of coffee was available when surely a large pot should be there.

Close to Pienza village. Good morning breakfast. Easy to find. Adaquate parking.
Hair dryer in bathroom was not working well.

charming gardens for relaxation, unique architectural style resembling a villa, excellent location for touring Tuscany
The outdated bathrooms could use a full upgrade for a fresher feel!!! Some rooms lack adequate shower features, resulting in inconvenience during bathing!!! Limited options for on-site entertainment left me wanting more!!!

This was a nice discovery. After looking for somewhere as a contrast to the busy-mess of Rome and Florence, Hotel Residence San Gregorio was spacious (2 room suite) and quiet, a perfect location for enjoying the historic town of Pienza and the area around Montepulciano and other notable wine areas. The hotel's restaurant had excellent food and wine, as well as a friendly staff. Nice to be able to use an elevator instead of lugging our bags up narrow steep stairways as in our previous accomodations! Even though the room does not include cooking facilties, there is a mini-frig. This place will be a very comfortable for a family or couples travelling together as the suite includes a large table for sharing meals or social gathering.
